Dave Basham

Started to play guitar at the age of 14 encouraged by my father who had been a dance band musician.

Formed first band "The Segovians" with school friends in the early 1960's to play at a local youth club using a Grundig tape recorder as an amplifier!

Next played with the "Voodoos" a Shadows type instrumental band in Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Moved to London in 1963 and joined "The Temeraires", a blues band formed by students at Harrow art college. Played the the London circuit including the infamous Eel Pie Island Hotel. Were persuaded to enter the Watford Sound Contest in 1964, one of it's most notable heat winners being "The Zombies". This led to "The Temeraires" being signed by Keith Fordyce (Ready Steady Go) with TV appearances and demo recordings for a major record label to follow.

Moved briefly to Norwich in 1966 and helped form local soul/blues band "Trayne of Thought"

Back to London for the 1970's to play with such bands as "Vixen" (folk), "Spice Island" (jazz rock) and "Tigi Nigi" (jazz).

Back to Norwich in 1980 to play with the "Liza Wolf Band" (rock), "Chase the Ace" (jazz/funk), "Doctor Syn" (blues/rock), "Tuckers Torpedoes", "Swing42" (jazz) and presently "Savoir Faire".
